Houston Engagement Session

This Houston engagement session was filled with so much joy, love and laughter! I was thrilled when Jordan and Joanne reached out and shared all the excitement for their October wedding at Hughes Manor. Truly, I was honored they chose my team to be part of their day. After spending this time together exploring Hermann Park in Houston, Texas and capturing their love for each other, we instantly knew these two were a match made in heaven! They had so much personality and we were struck at how confident they were together as a couple. It was inspiring!

Together at Last

Jordan and Joanne have known each other since 2016 when they caught each other’s eyes from across the room when hanging out with friends. They began a long-distance romance until October 2018 when Jordan decided it was time for her to move to Houston to be with Joanne. Finally together in the same city, they realized that they thrived when they were together. They were living their best life when they were together. Together they began to build a community that loved and supported them.

A Double Proposal

Joanne had secretly been planning her proposal to Jordan for quite some time. On a trip to Vegas with Jordan’s family in March 2020, Joanne asked Jordan’s parents for permission to marry the love of her life. They gave their blessing so Joanne planned a proposal for April 4 but Covid-19 got in the way. Carrying on a tradition, these two headed to Jordan’s hometown for July 4 weekend, so Joanne knew that would be the perfect time to propose at the country club Jordan’s family owned.  Joanne pulled off the ultimate surprise. Jordan thought they were all going to the country club for family photos. Little did she know it was going to be a proposal.

Joanne drew up plans for decorating the gazebo, mailed it to Jordan’s parents and they set it all up. There were framed photographs of these two and their dogs and handwritten signs. Hanging lights, baskets and pillows decorated the gazebo and a photographer was there, ready to capture it all. Family and friends were hiding inside the club and ready to celebrate with these two. It was more than Jordan could’ve ever imagined. Every detail reflected something about their relationship!

In October, it was Jordan’s turn to plan a surprise proposal.  With a photographer and a band standing by, Jordan proposed to Joanne with their pups and her two best friends present in front of the Houston skyline.

Congratulations, Jordan and Joanne! I can not wait until your wedding at Hughes Manor this October! Thank you for entrusting the Aly Matei Photography team to capture your big day!
