Throughout my journey as a wedding photographer, I have photographed at many venues in and around the Houston area. I get asked a lot which ones I recommend or are my favorites. Instead of copying and pasting that text over and over, I decided to put it all down in words here for the world to see.
The Grand Texana
If you have been following me for a while, you know that The Grand Texana has a special place in my heart. Not only is the venue gorgeous, but the owners are amazing! Anne and her granddaughter Stormye run the venue and I promise, you will not meet any souls sweeter than theirs.
Balmorhea
What I love about Balmorhea is the variety. They have the chapel for ceremonies but there is also an outdoor ceremony location as well that you can choose to use for your wedding day. The property is so beautiful! It is a great venue if you are have a large guest list!
Ashton Gardens
This venue has two locations that are equally to die for. The chapel is perfectly lit for a beautiful ceremony. I have even seen night time ceremonies take place here! Whether you have a large or small guest list, Ashton Gardens is easy to accommodate any couple. Their reception ballroom is able to be cut in half so your don’t have too large of a space to fill if you are having a smaller guest list.
Arrowhead Hill
Although this venue is not officially finished yet, I have a strong feeling that it will be THE wedding venue of Houston. The owners include Courtney of Courtney Leigh Photography and her family. She was essential in the creation of this venue! Courtney helped design Arrowhead Hill from a photographer’s point of view, so you know if anything, there will be perfect lighting! Not only is the venue STUNNING, but they also have cottages for guests or the bride and groom to stay at overnight.

Olde Dobbin Station
The best part about Olde Dobbin Station is that it truly does not need extra decor for it to be something beautiful. The chapel is well lit and and just so uniquely beautiful. The venue originally was an old pumping station back in the 1900’s. They have transformed this old pumping station into a beautiful venue that speaks for itself. Dress it up or dress it down, Olde Dobbin Station will not disappoint. Between the well lit chapel and the ivy on the outer walls, it is a photographer’s dream venue!
The Estates at Pecan Park
What could be better than a white estate? Not much to be quite honest. The Estates at Pecan Park is a venue that holds not comparison to other venues. It reminds me of venues in Georgia and Louisiana. When you first enter the gate, you begin a drive down the the pecan tree grove with the beautiful white estate in the back. Once you come to the front steps, you will be blown away by the prominence that the venue commands.
The Gallery
This one holds a special place in my heart because my best friend got married here. The venue is on the outskirts of the Galleria area in Houston. The brick and ivy walls are unique and photograph incredibly well. One of my favorite parts of The Gallery is the angles. They allow me to challenge my photography perspective to create new lines that I normally don’t have the opportunity to make in photos.
Houston is home to many wedding venues, each have their own unique selling point. The venues in Houston cater to the diverse community members in Houston to allow variety and a venue for every couple.
There are so many more venues that I love here in Houston, I will be adding to the list throughout the year.
