A Beautiful South Asian Wedding at Omni Hotel in Houston

Sarika and Zach’s South Asian wedding at the Omni Hotel in Houston, Texas was one that I’ll never forget! It was such a beautiful celebration of this couples love, and I loved how energetic their guests were and how happy everyone was throughout this entire day. Weddings in general are beautiful, and being able to capture different cultural weddings is always an honor to me! I especially adored all of the vibrant colors during this wedding day. Sarika and Zach are actually lawyers from NYC, but chose to have their ceremony here in Houston!

Getting Ready With The Bride

Sarika spent her morning getting ready in her own separate room at the Omni Hotel in Houston. She wore the most beautiful red dress with golden ascents and jewelry, and looked absolutely stunning. I loved the city views from their hotel rooms!

Getting Ready With The Groom

Zach also got ready in his own separate room and with views of Houston for miles. I loved the modern South Asian wedding tradition of the Baraat where grooms pull up in extravagant cars welcomed by guests and family. And of course they also had Baraat music playing which was so energetic and upbeat! If you want to learn more about the Baraat wedding tradition, you can do that here!

A Beautiful Ceremony at The Omni Hotel in Houston, Texas

Sarika and Zach’s wedding ceremony was nothing short of beautiful. It was decorated with the most colorful and vibrant florals from Events in Bloom, and you could tell how genuinely happy everyone was to be celebrating the union of Sarika and Zach. Before the ceremony, Sarika’s mother applied the tilak to Zach’s forehead, then Sarikas parents escorted Zach and his parents to the alter, also known as the mandap. Sarika was escorted down the aisle by her brother Sameer, and when she and Zach met at the mandap they exchanged garlands, also known as Jai Mala. The rest of their ceremony was beautiful, and full of such meaningful traditions and special moments shared between the two. I loved how they had a detailed explanation of the ceremony and traditions that would take place for those who weren’t familiar.

After their beautiful ceremony, we stepped outside of The Omni Hotel in Houston and got some portraits of Sarika and Zach together. These two share such a sweet and tender love, and I loved capturing them their different sets of wedding attire.

An Energetic Wedding Reception at The Omni Hotel in Houston

Sarika and Zach’s wedding reception was full of so many laughs, lots of love, and the best energy. I especially loved when Sarika’s brother Sameer and other guests and family at the wedding performed a beautiful dance for Sarika and Zach. It was such a fun reception, and I know its a day that Sarika and Zach will never forget!
