Houston Engagement Session

When Taylor and Seamus told me they wanted a romantic setting with fields and mossy trees for their Houston engagement session, I knew just the place! Hermann Park in Houston, Texas offers so much variety! There are so many nooks and crannies, along with stunning trees, open fields, benches, monuments and sculptures. While there is a lot of walking involved, it is totally worth it. With such a multitude of backgrounds, Hermann Park allows me to be creative as a photographer and offer a diversified gallery of stunning images.

Taylor and Seamus are high school sweethearts! They were in the same elective their senior year and had mutual friends in school. They have dated for 6 1/2 years! Since Taylor attended Texas Tech University and Seamus went to the University of Texas, their relationship was long distance. But that didn’t stop the deep love they have for one another. These two can’t wait to finally live in the same city and become husband and wife in August 2022!

 

The Proposal

One of my favorite parts of every engagement session is hearing the engagement story. Taylor shared how Seamus proposed.

“I went to Austin to visit him and we had planned on going to Torr na Lochs Winery, just an hour outside Austin and halfway to my family’s ranch. We wanted to take some friends that we thought would enjoy it! When we got there, Seamus had reserved a private tasting area on the top of the property that overlooks Lake Buchanan. When we got up there, we had some friends take photos of us in front of the view and then he got down on his knee and proposed all while I thought we were just taking pictures! After the tasting I was surprised that the other couple with us brought my suitcase and we drove the rest of the way to the ranch where both our families were waiting to celebrate!”

This was such a thoughtful and intentional proposal. Hats off to Seamus to for organizing such a fun surprise for Taylor.

 

Taylor is a pediatric nurse at Children’s Memorial Hermann in the Medical Center. Seamus is a chemical engineer for Samsung in Austin. Living in the same city will finally become a reality in 2022! Seamus can’t wait to see Taylor walk down the aisle at Sugar Land Methodist Church. They will celebrate with family and friends at The Junior League in Houston, Texas. Taylor and Seamus, I had a blast at your engagement session. I can’t wait to capture all the special moments on your big day! Thank you for entrusting me to be a part of your journey.
