Houston Junior League Wedding
This Houston Junior League wedding was the dreamiest! Taylor and Seamus wanted their wedding to feel classic and elegant. And that is was! Their ceremony was held at Sugarland Methodist Church with the most romantic reception at The Junior League of Houston. They chose simple colors to accent the elegance of the wallpaper and chandeliers that line The Junior League ballroom. It was simply stunning!
Getting Ready
Taylor and Seamus were high school sweethearts! After meeting in a class they had together, they starting dating and have been together for seven years. On their wedding day, Taylor got ready at her parents house. With her favorite people surrounding her, there was love and laughter everywhere. Everyone was so calm and relaxed which is a testament to Taylor and Seamus and the love they have for each other. Taylor had a first look with her bridesmaids and their reactions were priceless. She and Seamus wrote love letters to each other so each had some time privately to read those and take it all in.
First Look with Dad
Always a favorite moment for me at any wedding, is the emotion captured when a father sees his baby girl all decked out in her wedding gown for the first time. Taylor shared some very special moments with her Dad during this first look.
Sugarland Methodist Church
Before the ceremony at Sugarland Methodist Church, we captured Taylor with her bride tribe all elegant in their black dresses and all white bouquets. We also photographed Seamus and the groomsmen who were decked out in black suits and bow ties.
The Ceremony at Sugarland Methodist Church
The ceremony at Sugarland Methodist Church was lovely! The church was so pretty and with the wedding party in all black, it was simply beautiful.
Outdoor Newlywed + Bridal Party Portraits
After the ceremony, we walked the grounds of the church to get portraits of the newlyweds and their wedding party. Everyone cheered them on.
Houston Junior League Wedding Reception
Taylor shared with me that one of the most special moments of the day was getting to see the reception ballroom before guests entered from cocktail hour. She and Seamus got to see how perfectly everything they spent so much time on planning came together. It truly brought tears to Taylor’s eyes. It was a moment they will never forget!
Guests enjoyed a delicious meal, listened to intentional and sentimental toasts honoring Taylor and Seamus and danced the night away. The florals and tablescapes were so romantic and the cakes were both amazing. The newlyweds left the reception through flying silver streamers and drove away in a vintage car to start their new life together.
I asked Taylor what advice she had for a newly engaged couple planning their wedding. She said, “My advise to couples planning their wedding is to keep an open mind when things change and figure out what part of the wedding is most important to you.”
Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Gildeas! It has been such an honor to serve you and watch you become husband and wife. The entire team at Aly Matei Photography wishes you the very best life ahead!
