A Fun Beckendorff Farms Wedding in Katy, TX | Natalie & Austin
Natalie and Austin had such a beautiful and fun Beckendorff Farms wedding in Katy, Texas! I actually went to college with Austin the groom, and technically Natalie too but I didn’t know her in college. I knew Austin well though, and when I saw the inquiry come through I recognized the groom’s name. It’s such a small word! It made shooting the wedding day even easier because I knew him already and Natalie was so incredibly easy to get to know and become close with too! Because we knew each other, it made everything from the day and portraits felt so pressure free on me and them!
Austin and Natalie actually went to high school together for 3 years and knew of each other, but they didn’t run in the same circle. They ended up actually meeting one of the first weeks in college at a small college bar called The Jolly Fox in Huntsville, TX. They were both weekly regulars at the bar so they frequently saw each other. Then their spring semester they ended up having a class together and became pretty good friends. Natalie just knew she HAD to date this guy! According to Natalie, Austin took his sweet time figuring it out and then they started dating that NEXT spring semester! Now they’ve been together for 7.5 years!
Getting Ready With The Bride at Beckendorff Farms
Natalie had a great time getting ready with her bridesmaids in the bridal suite at Beckendorff Farms! She looked absolutely stunning in her dress and her bridesmaids looked great in their bridesmaid’s dresses as well! I loved Natalies florals, they were simple yet so beautiful!
Getting Ready With The Groom
Austin also had a great time with his groomsman getting ready for the wedding ceremony! Austin and his groomsman shared a few laughs and we got some portraits with the groom and his groomsman outside of Beckendorff Farms!
Intimate First Looks Between The Bride & Groom
Katy and Austin were able to share an intimate first look with each other before the ceremony. When Austin turned around you could tell how in awe he was at how beautiful Natalie is and how stunning she looked in her wedding dress! It was the sweetest moment and I’m so thankful I could capture it for them!
A Beautiful Ceremony at Beckendorff Farms
Austin and Natalie had a stunning ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends. The wedding day was January 8th and Natalie and Austin were really hoping for some Winter wedding vibes, but the weather had other plans! It was on-and-off rain all day, and there were even some intense storm warnings in the Katy Area. But Natalie kept a positive attitude and even said “They say rain is good luck though, right?” Luckily, we were able to sneak outside for some photos in the sun!
A Fun Reception at Beckendorff Farms
Natalie and Austin had the most fun and lively dance floor! Natalie was on the Orange Pride Dance Team at Sam Houston State University, so I knew the dance floor would be a hit! The bride is half Mexican, so one of her dad’s requirements was to have a mariachi band play just like they do at every large family event. Natalie’s dad found a wonderful 6 person mariachi band and it was a huge hit amongst their wedding guests. They were the entertainment for cocktails and the beginning of dinner hour. When they entered the venue everyone cheered! Natalie and Austin were actually able to have a private dinner in her bridal suite which she was so thankful for!
Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Lyles! It has been such an honor for the Aly Matei Photography Team to serve you. Every moment has been a joy! Wishing you the best as you begin your new life together as a married couple!
Sweet Words From Natalie & Austin
“Aly was one of the first vendors I booked for our wedding day and I did so almost immediately after our initial call – she was so down to earth, super relatable, and really informative of how she runs her business. We absolutely LOVE our engagement, bridal, and wedding galleries. We got married on a day where weather definitely was NOT favoring us and she played “part time weather girl” and had her radar out making sure we could still get pictures outside and avoid getting dumped on – she really can do it all.
After the wedding, I think Aly literally sent me almost 60 photos for sneak peaks within 24hrs cause she really is so passionate about her couples and it comes off in her work and how she treated us as clients. We are so thankful for Aly’s guidance, vision, and expertise on our wedding day and definitely plan to use her for any photos we want in the future.”
