Galveston Engagement Session

This Galveston engagement session was so much fun! Reagan and Shawn wanted a beachy feel but we had to explore a little bit of Galveston before we dipped our toes in the sand. We started at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Galveston where they will be getting married in February 2022. They also wanted to include their yellow lab, Miller. When Reagan first met Shawn, he learned how much she loved dogs. One day he surprised her with the most treasured gift: Miller. So, of course, they had to incorporate a few photos with Miller and Miller Lite, their favorite beverage.

Chance Meeting

Reagan and Shawn met in an elevator in the parking garage at Texas A&M University. Shawn asked Reagan how her day was which Reagan thought was weird because, let’s face it, no one normally talks in garage elevators. When Reagan exited the elevator, Shawn said, “Have a nice day!” and she replied, “You too!”.  A few days later Reagan was out at a bar on Northgate with friends when she felt a tap on her shoulder. Guess what? It was Shawn!! They sat and talked for a while, exchanged numbers before he left, and 4 years later here they are engaged.

The Proposal

Shawn proposed at the George Bush Library on the Texas A &M campus and pulled off the best surprise. When I asked Reagan to tell me all about it, she shared the following:

“It was his sister’s ring day so we did that in the morning and then went and had a nice lunch. We went to the library later that evening. I thought we were going there to redo his cap and gown pictures since we never got any good ones of him when he graduated. He took a few pictures by himself and then my friend who was the photographer suggested I jump in a few and then I turned around and he was on his knee with a ring! I was completely shocked. We took a few pics there and then went back to his sister’s apartment where my whole family and his whole family had put together this beautiful party.”

Shawn is in law school at The University of Houston and Reagan works at Texas Equine Hospital in Bryan. They are so excited about their upcoming wedding in 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Galveston and look forward to celebrating with their family and friends at their reception at The Tremont House!
